The context

Yard is a Paris event venue at the intersection of corporate and creative, hosting fashion wholesale presentations, agency events, conferences, parties and media activations. From the concept phase, the Yard team understood that a poorly designed IT infrastructure would structurally limit the range of formats the venue could host. Macinwork was engaged from the design phase to define the entire technical installation, from cabling to final AV equipment.

What we delivered

Complete installation, built to last and evolve. Network side: high-availability infrastructure, high-density indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi, full RJ45 cabling and central server-rack installation. Audio side: a Dante system distributing hundreds of digital audio channels with ultra-low latency across the venue, Bose and Soundtube speakers for indoor and outdoor diffusion, Shure microphones for sound capture (conferences, panels, performances). Video side: a 4-metre by 3-metre COB LED wall as the primary backdrop, steerable from multiple control positions depending on the event scenario. Full meeting-room equipment for corporate daily usage, network sized for event-grade load peaks (live streaming, simultaneous IP video flows).

Approach

The central constraint was modularity: a versatile venue cannot be optimised for a single usage. We built the network architecture around segmented VLANs steerable on the fly (control room, staff, guests, streaming), equipped every zone with independent AV gear linked to the central Dante backbone, and pre-cabled event hotspots to avoid stressful last-minute deployments. The COB LED wall can show a sports broadcast or an artistic visual, and the audio system moves from conference to club configuration without physical recabling.
